3A Hong Kong Reventure Show

What an amazing experience this was. Epic in all sense of the word. We need more of this kind of creative energy here, but enough of that. I was there at preview night. Music, food and crowds added to the ambiance of how art can bring people together in a way that leaves you inspired to create!

I was suppose to meet a friend who was flying in just for this, but his flight was delayed. Not to worry we were there for the next few days and got to really absorb everything from the show. Ashley Wood, Rufus Dayglo and William Wray were amazing with their time they shared with all their fans.

I do need to make a special shout out to Rufus Dayglo who totally made my little girls fall in love with going to art shows! Thank you sir for being awesome to them!

Things I took from this was creative energy, something that is not abundant in this neck of the woods. For someone who writes for a living (yes, you can pay the bills with writing), it was a much needed boost to remind me what it's all about. Ash was insightful and forth coming with his opinions about that and can't thank him enough for that.

As for the friend that came over for this, he is a rocking-cool-dude! Glad to have geeked out and experienced many unexpected epic moments with the Mark Torres, artist extraordinaire!

Ocean Park's Old Hong Kong Street

Ocean Park has a new addition of old. Old Hong Kong is a throw back in time of the 60s to 70s. Food stalls to the theme park games, as well as the detailed decorations give this new addition a great time travel of a Hong Kong most have never seen.

Birthday Trip to Taipei

Usually my birthday brings blizzards and ice storms, but this year was quite different.
I went to Taipei for my 30-something birthday. Last time I was here was back 20-something years ago. Things have changed from the last tike I was there.
The traffic isn't as insane. People were way nicer and the creative culture is very vibrant.
The food as always was amazing!
I will come back without question and explore more of this wonderful place and people.

Junk food for thought

There's some really interesting flavors for chips here. I've tried some and others are on my to do snack list.

Okay one isn't really chips, but noodles that are bunched up and cut into round pieces. Not sure what to call it. Noodle chips? Looks interesting enough to try out. 7-Up with golden dragons makes it taste better...right?

Shek O

Spent the afternoon hiking in Shek O, one of last old school villages in Hong Kong. It's the only places you can surf here and enjoy a slower pace of life. Located in the southeast of Hong Kong island. The views here are spectacular. You can read more about it here.

There's even an old school mini golf course built with an ancient China theme by the parking lot, which is close the the village and access to their beach. The homes are clearly renovated with expats in mind, as you can see by the colours and larger windows. Still there are some homes that are still rocking out the 70s vibe. The trees here are large and very dense, which is interesting as this is supposedly the drier part of Hong Kong. It's one of the easiest places to hike and enjoy some fantastic views of Shek O, but enough of all that. Here are some photos I took while I was there for the first time.
